A dermatologist with over 30 years of experience, Steven Greene, MD, currently serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington’s Department of Medicine in the Division of Dermatology. He has held this position since 1984, at which time he also joined Group Health Permanente in Seattle, Washington, as a staff dermatologist, where he provided direct patient care for 27 years. Prior to this position, Steven Greene, MD, was a consultant in dermatology at Austin Medical Clinic in Austin, Minnesota.

Holding a Bachelor of Arts from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Greene attended the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, and earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1980. During medical school, Dr. Greene completed an externship in dermatology at St. John’s Hospital for Diseases of the Skin in London. Upon earning his MD, he completed an internship in internal medicine at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, and a residency in dermatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Greene maintains memberships with several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Seattle Dermatologic Society, the Dermatology Foundation, the Society of Pediatric Dermatology, the American Contact Dermatitis Society, and the National Psoriasis Foundation.

Dedicated to giving back to his community and the world at large, Dr. Greene regularly volunteers his time and medical expertise to various charitable organizations. He is currently a member of the Seattle Jewish Chorale, a group that provides musical entertainment for Seattle-area residents, including those who are terminally ill or live in retirement communities. Dr. Greene has performed skin cancer screenings for members of the Seattle Mariners baseball organization, and he has also served as a volunteer teaching attending physician in dermatology at Seattle Veterans Hospital. During the summer of 2007, Dr. Greene expanded his charity work internationally, traveling to Ayachucho, Peru, to start a dermatology clinic and teach local medical professionals recent advances in dermatological treatments.
